The Handy Guide for Writing an Article
This is our first attempt to write a guide for the new version 2.0 of pbWiki. Please let us know what we've left out, or where we have gone astray. In general, 2.0 is much easier to use, so it won't require as much hand holding.
The pbWiki manual has a very nice summary of the techniques for writing an article. Here is is: http://pbwikimanual.pbwiki.com/Editing We suggest that you keep the manual open in a separate tab or window of your browser, so it's always handy while you're working on your article.
Please observe following principles that are specific to The ARS Sojourner.
1. Our sidebar is the key to everything. It shows you the topics we focus on and also signals the overall organization of the site.
2. Your article should be placed in the sidebar topic that most closely fits your article. Just go the the sidebar item. Your article should be placed on top of the other articles already in that topic.
3. Use the pbWiki Manual to learn how to create the new page for your article, how to upload your graphics files, how to create links, and how to do a mess of other interesting things. Use your imagination!
4. Version 2.0 now allows us to use folders to organize the files and pages in the wiki. Our folders use exactly the same titles as the sidebar. Please put your page and files in the proper folder.
5. Once you article is living happily in the proper sidebar topic, you can get really fancy and put a photo and a link the your new page in the "What's New" topic. We'll include references to the three newest items in "What's New" in the Front Page of the wiki.
