Adventure Radio Society

We've moved! Please visit http://adventure-radio.org/wiki/index.php for the further adventures of ARS and FOBB... and sign up for the ARS announcement list at http://adventure-radio.org/announce.html

Welcome to the Internet home of the Adventure Radio Society, a great group of men and women who combine amateur radio with their love of the outdoors - with a focus on operating from beautiful or remarkable places accessed through their own power.

The Adventure Radio Society - founded in May 1996 - sponsors popular events, such as its monthly Spartan Sprint, Top of the World and annual Flight of the Bumblebees.

We support the development of imaginative radio equipment and antennas suited for outdoor operation and publish this wiki, The ARS Sojourner.

The whole idea of this wiki is to encourage interaction among the members of ARS and to give everyone the oppportunity to write articles of all shapes and sizes. If you haven't used a wiki before, go to the top link "How Does This Wiki Work?" and "The Handy Guide for Writing an Article."

Please try to stay within the theme of the page and remember that comments about ideas are always welcome, but inappropriate comments about people are not.

What's New?

Here are the three most recent articles in the wiki. Don't miss them!

OOK versus the 21st Century, by Russ Carpenter, AA7QU

November Spartan Sprint BLUES! ... by Steve/n0tu

FOBB 2008 Mt Herman Colorado by Shel KF0UR

Contest Reporting

We now have a two click system for logging your results. We first tried it with the Flight of the Bumblebees (with great success) and have now installed the new system for the Spartan Sprints. And we have returned to our traditional contest reporting format. All you contest hounds are going to be happy.Take a peek here: http://arsqrp.pbwiki.com/SS+logs+10-08

Accessing the Wiki

Access has become breathtakingly simple

If you just want to browse, go straight to the wiki (no log-in or passwords) http://arsqrp.pbwiki.com/

If you want to also report contest results, go straight to the wiki (no log-in or passwords) http://arsqrp.pbwiki.com/

If you also want to submit a comment or write write an article for the wiki, you need an account with PBwiki. Many of you already have a PBwiki account. For those of you who don't, go here: https://my.pbwiki.com/?p=create

Meanwhile, PBwiki itself has been upgraded (to version 2.0). The authoring tools are better than ever. Try writing an article. Make it multimedia. It's all easy, fun and 21st Century.

Have fun, both within the realm of The ARS Sojourner and in the great out-of-doors.
